Food Services

Park County School District #1 offers healthy meals every school day. We offer a variety of fruits and vegetables and use offer vs. serve in our school lunch program. This enables the children to have a choice in what they might choose to eat. We also offer breakfast in all schools as part of our program. Our meals all meet the nutritional guidelines as set forth by the state. At the high school and middle school levels, we also offer an Ala Carte Line; this lunch menu offers a wide variety of food and drink choices.

We, as a food service staff, invite parents at any time to come enjoy lunch with your children. We only ask that you call the office to let them know you are coming so we can be sure to prepare enough food.

Breakfast costs $1.40 for elementary and $1.65 for Middle School and High School. Lunch costs $2.65 for elementary and $2.90 for Middle School and High School. Your children may qualify for free meals or for reduced price meals. Reduced price is .30 cents for breakfast and .40 cents for lunch. Adult meals are $3.65.

Fresh Fruits and Vegetables Program

Our district  participates in the Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Program (FFVP) at all elementary schools in the district. It provides all children in these schools with a variety of free fresh fruits and vegetables throughout the school day. Fruit and vegetable snacks are provided daily with the exception of some short school weeks, holidays and early release days. It is an effective and creative way of introducing fresh fruits and vegetables as healthy snack options.

This program is seen as an important catalyst for change in efforts to combat childhood obesity by helping children learn more healthful eating habits. The FFVP introduces school children to a variety of produce that they otherwise might not have had the
opportunity to sample.
